Author's comment: Just a quick (not perfect) drabble.
In District 3, machines, when they "die" (by which I mean when they are broken irreparably), are taken apart and what pieces that can be are re-purposed. In this manner, they live on within something else. There is some resemblance in this to the belief in reincarnation (which I learned of from other victors instead of at home in 3). This is also a bit like memory. The thing you knew is gone, but not forgotten.
What happens to people when they die?
This isn't a question the Capitol wants us to ask.
I like to think there was some special place for Wiress.
