Freak and Banter
It looked awful.
Takuya looked the lump of clay in his hands, then rolled it back into a ball. He’d been going for a small dragon but his incomplete and scrapped product looked anything but. In fact, he didn’t think even his art teacher would manage to put a name to it.
He almost choked on his own saliva when the teacher said: ‘Once you’re done with your clay model, please name them, and – Kanbara-kun? Is something the matter?’
Takuya shook his shaggy head of hair. ‘Oh, no.’ He looked at the imperfect ball and quickly poked at it. It looked…marginally better.
‘Oh,’ he muttered under his breath. ‘Who am I kidding?’
He snuck a peak to Koji. He was spouting a smoother round ball.
Takuya quickly returned to his own masterpiece – or lack thereof. A few more prods – made it look like the results of Raremon’s sludge. He made a face at the thought.
And how in the world was he supposed to name it?’
‘It looks like a freak sculpture,’ Kouji muttered from beside him.
‘Gee, thanks,’ Takuya responded. He unfortunately agreed, therefore failed to come up with a better argument.
The other smirked at him. ‘Is that the best you’ve got?’
‘I see you’re a little better,’ the brunet shot, looking at the oval.
‘I can name this a Footy.’
Another point to the Warrior of Light.
‘Fine. I’ll name this a Freak!’
Kouji almost choked on the reply to his banter. ‘Freak,’ he chortled.
‘Hey,’ Takuya shrugged. ‘That one’s your fault.’
