[October 6th] [Original] Ghosts
Title: Ghosts
Day/Theme: October 6: Late Night Betty
Series: Original
Character/Pairing: Belle/Diana
Rating: PG
Author's Note: 6 universes to the right of the original timeline, in which Diana and Belle meet at age 9.
“I don’t believe in ghosts.”
“You don’t believe in anything,” Diana replied dismissively.
“I don’t believe in superstitious nonsense,” Belle asserted, sounding a lot older than her ten years.
“You’re awfully far from home to judge what is real and what isn’t. You’re just asking for a ghost to get you,” Diana replied, looking up from her book of local legends.
“If this castle had a ghost, wouldn’t it have one with a scarier name than “Late Night Betty”? Belle said, gesturing elegantly around her to indicate the whole of the impressive stone palace. Diana snorted.
“Well, I didn’t name her. Maybe… maybe it’s to lull her victims into a false security,” Diana stated, quoting from one of her favorite books.
“So she can pounce on them and drag them off and drink their blood?” Belle scoffed.
“I don’t share this palace’s blood with anyone. I’m the princess, I get first blood,” Diana replied, bearing her too-sharp teeth to make her point clear.
“Fine, don’t share. But I don’t want to have to patch you up after a fight with a ghost.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. My magic isn’t all for healing and hiding and stuff. I’d beat her up.”
“We’ll see,” Belle smirked, and returned to her diagrams. Diana glared at her, already plotting a ghost hunt.
