Author's comment: Hmm, just another drabble. Hopefully better/more elaborate stuff later this month?
The span of near-empty land between Amestris' nearest city and Ishval proper had never been much to the birds that traveled back and forth between them and it wasn't so far for people anymore either. He could purchase a ticket at the newly inaugurated station on the outskirts of the rebuilt Hestar District and be riding a train into the distance before three hours were up within daylight hours. And the work on the line to Xing, far further away, was continuing at a decent rate for the difficult conditions that hindered the work.
Scar had hope that the nation was opening for the better.
