Author's comment: Just a drabble.
The trees in Ishval- what trees there were- didn't shed their leaves with the turning of the seasons.
In Amestris, the way they colored, then faded and fell, it was almost like they'd bled and died.
Like many other matters of life in Amestris, it struck him as somewhat melodramatic, but he supposed to the people there it was simply an ordinary matter of life. Seasons changed differently in Ishval.
He missed those things. He missed his old life, sometimes it was almost more than he could bear.
The red leaves bent; the brown ones broke beneath his heavy feet.
