31 July - Original - Resolution
Title: Resolution
Day/Theme: July 31 – “One must seize the reality of one's fate, and that's that.”
Series: Original
Rating: PG
That was then, this is now.
Standing in the darkness with only the fog that rolled in for company, she realised a vital truth – of which she kept wrapped up in threads of gossamer silk, that despite all that had passed and all she had achieved, there was one thing left to do.
Lie down and wait for him.
She loved him, like she loved the moon – settled deeply into the shadows where she dared not set foot, lest she stay to watch the world roll on by.
Whether he came by daylight or 100 years from now, her very soul was entwined with his and she would follow him from this lifetime to the next.
The realisation fell like a mallet to her very chest, hitting against her ribcage with the startling clang of bone against metal, and she couldn’t even understand how this fleeting moment of clarity would settle against her like the softest velvet or the calmest spring rains as they whispered through the trees.
She saw all the moments embedded in her skin, red like everlasting crosswork of lines and deep only to her, he was special in ways that she could not even explain only feel. Stabbing her smoke out, the faint whispers of bliss kissing her fingertips – she settled into the night to watch it all play out.
Whether it was her lifetime or his.
She was determined to find him.
