[July 30] [Fullmetal Alchemist] Can't Rewind Time
Title: Can't Rewind Time
Day/Theme: July 30, 2012 "the memory cheats, the past is dead"
Series: Fullmetal Alchemist
Character/Pairing: Kimblee & Isaac McDougal
Rating: PG
"I hoped that you would join me," Isaac said, "And not only that-" This part was more difficult for him to say, which gave Kimblee a decent guess at what sort of thing he was going to bring up, "I hoped that we could recapture what we'd lost."
What had they had in first place? Kimblee wouldn't bother to ask that and stir up unnecessary trouble. Not when he was about to crush Isaac's dreams anyway. "I'm sorry," he shook his head, "I can't do that, Isaac. …and, in any case, we can never go back."
Isaac wasn't good at hiding his feelings. It was easy enough to see that this had hurt him. "Give it a little more thought?" he prompted.
"If I were you, I'd go now," Kimblee urged his decision-making toward the pragmatic, "You want to get out before more guards catch up to you."
Isaac didn't make an immediate move.
"If you're caught, it's not like we're going to be in here together," Kimblee reminded him on the off chance he was thinking something so foolish.
"Take care of yourself," the Freezing Alchemist settled for saying and was off.
People looked back so often. Kimblee preferred to look forward.
