[July 19] [Fullmetal Alchemist] Travel Light
Title: Travel Light
Day/Theme: July 19, 2012 "Careful what you carry"
Series: Fullmetal Alchemist
Character/Pairing: Kimblee
Rating: PG
For a certain self-possessed sort of man, the border was porous enough. He wasn't challenged on the Amestrian side- even more than that, he didn't meet a single soldier on patrol who wanted to see his papers- and he would have liked to show them, seeing as they made known very clearly that he was out on the president's business and to be given whatever aid he required, and it was necessary to destroy them before he met with his "friends" on the other side.
The Drachman side was initially just as empty. Snow and pine trees were the company that greeted him. Their "hellos" were the soft crunch they made beneath his feet and as they wind blew between their branches. The border garrison he eventually stumbled upon (he imagined it would have taken them double the time to find him) was hardly half as friendly.
But he didn't carry any weapons they could take- the circles were part of him, the remaining stone was hidden away inside- and any suspect government documents had long since been destroyed. He was nothing but a strange alchemist speaking fragmentary Drachmani...and bearing just enough notes jotted down on paper to give truth to his statements that he had come to share news of the weaknesses of Fort Briggs.
"We take you to general," the leader of the men promised, in equally spotty Amestrian.
"Thank you." It was just what he wanted.
