“Oh no!”

“What’s wrong, Aria?”

“We’re out of money!”

“We are? Hmm, that is a problem.”

The little girl pulled out her flute. “It can’t be helped. I’m going to see if anyone will kindly spare some change for a song.”

Zel grinned. “You sure are an honest sort.”

“I see no other way to get money.”

“You just leave that to me, angel-face! Let’s meet back here when the sun sets.”

“Alright.”

When the sun set, they met back up by the fountain in the square. Aria proudly showed Zel the coins she had collected.

“Not bad, not bad, but feast your eyes on this!”

Aria’s jaw dropped. His hands were overflowing with coins. “How did you get so many?”

“Puppy eyes,” he said.

“What?”

“I acted all cute and pathetic in front of girls. My Sis does it all the time for boys. You should try it! It’s fun!”

“My big brother would disown me if I did that! You are a rouge, Zelomir Fabre. You shall grow up to be a pirate or worse!”

Zel grinned and grabbed her hand. “Come on, angel-face, I’ll by you dinner.”
