Ukoku Sanzou sat on the steps by Koumyou Sanzou and shared a jug of wine with him.
"Have you been busy this last year?" Koumyou asked, smiling.
Ukoku looked at the cup of wine in his hands.
I thought of sending assassins to kill you and take your sutra. I thought of testing myself beyond any previous tests. I thought about setting matters in train to destroy the world.
"I've been looking forward to seeing you again," he said.
I decided not to.
He tilted the cup. The moon was reflected in the dark wine, silver and shining and bright.
