Dalaran was in ruins. The demon -- and there was no other term for it -- had gone as swiftly as it had come. Many had evacuated, but still more had been trapped and, scrambling through the rubble, Kael'thas Sunstrider was one of them. He was almost, but not quite, numb to the pain.
The reports are sketchy, but... I can feel it. Kael closed his eyes on anguish. The Sunwell is... tainted. He rubbed at his chest, as if the arcane tie to the Sunwell that he'd been forced to sever was a physical thing, a hole where his very heart used to be. Father...
He had not been there when Quel'thalas had fallen. There had been plenty of people who had come to Dalaran, terrified and nearly broken with their grief, badly injured and hoping for succor. Reports were sketchy, and heavily subject to emotional interpretation. Anasterian was dead, fallen when the Flamestrike had shattered
