(August 2nd) (Fullmetal Alchemist) Nicknames
So, a small barely-drabble for October 2nd. I'm still not that impressive, but eh! I enjoy writing in this community!
Title: Nicknames
Day/Theme: October 2nd, Fortuna
Series: Fullmetal Alchemist
Character/Pairing: Ed
Rating: PG-13 for the F-bomb.
Once, while passing through a rundown town, populated by gypsies and old men telling stories of yonder, Ed had met a man.
True to the town’s nature, he was, ‘a teller of fortunes,’ apparently. Through some inexplicable pull, Ed had crouched down on the dirty ground so he was eye to eye with the poor man. Not that it mattered- The hood covered anything that he would have bother to look at.
The man had mumbled some made-up gibberish about the future, about how he’d known magic, in another world, something about equivalent trade…
Then the man had given him the nickname, ‘Fortuna.’ Obviously, it meant Fortune in some other language. He wasn’t going to be bothered to look it up.
He’d thanked the man, scoffing as he made his way back to his own home. Surprisingly, it was easy to get home, as many free opportunities had presented themselves. The normally expensive trip barely cost him the amount of a good meal!
When he arrived in Rizenbul, he’d discovered his mother had incurred a fatal sickness and had passed, and his brother was now deaf of mind and heart, but living.
Fucking Equivalent Trade, anyways.
OoOoOoOo....
