[Dec. 20] [Tales of Legendia] Garland
Title: Garland
Day/Theme: Dec. 20, 2011 "some to weave into my hair"
Series: Tales of Legendia
Character/Pairing: Fenimore & Shirley
Rating: G
Working in my co-mod capacity note: I'm getting to work on the comm's memories. How about a pleasant blast from January 2008, now that it's all catalogued? :)
"What pretty flowers!" Shirley breathed in deep as Fenimore dropped the edge of the dark blue layer of her skirt, pouring a shower of lilac, periwinkle, and white blossoms still attached to a variety of leaves and stems onto Shirley's lap and the green grass surrounding her. "They smell so sweet!"
"I know, right?" her friend was beaming, "I didn't know flowers like these bloomed on the Legacy. I haven't seen any since- Well, since before my village was attacked."
"So, these are flowers from the mainland?" Shirley toyed with the petals of one particularly frilly blossom.
"Well, they grow there," Fenimore sat down beside her, "But I couldn't tell you their origins. Maybe they grew on the Legacy first and were spread around by the people who left it."
"I got the impression one of my brother's friends knows about that sort of stuff," Shirley mused.
"Now," the pigtailed girl declared resolutely, "We'll make really good use of them."
"Are we going to braid them into garlands? I used to do that with Stella. ...Even when you're having fun, Fenimore, you're very industrious."
"Well, a garland would be nice, but I can think of something even more beautiful than that- Assuming you'll let me." The possibility that Shirley might say not hadn't even crossed her mind.
"Like what?"
"I want to weave the flowers right into your hair."
Shirley could picture it. Between the sun dress and flowers, she would look so feminine and...fancy. What would Senel say if he could see her? "I...I don't know how to do anything like that," Shirley smiled shyly, "But if you do, I'd be happy to make you a flower crown in return."
Surely this was the brightest Shirley had seen Fenimore's face in all the days they had spent together. "I'd love that!"
