[October 1] [HxH] Babysitting
Title: Babysitting
Day/Theme: October 1 - A screaming comes across the sky
Series: Hunter x Hunter
Character: Kurapika, Killua, Gon
Rating: Gen
“Killua, go and take your bath,” Kurapika said from the kitchen, not bothering to remove his head from where he was meticulously arranging and organizing everything in the freezer. The sound of the television lowered somewhat, though not by much – the walls still vibrated with every booming sound from the war movie the twelve-year-old boy and his friend were watching.
“Later. The movie’s about to end.”
“Fine.” He had better things to do than try to persuade the boys from their movies, and by the time he won, the film would have ended anyway. He knew from experience. “It’s getting late, too. Will Gon be staying over?”
“Yes, please!” was the resounding chirp from the dark-haired boy.
“Idiot. Sit still and watch. You just kicked me.”
“Language, Killua,” the blond said, pausing to shake his head. They were too old to be babysat, but Mrs Zaoldeyck, Killua’s mother, had insisted his ‘darling Killua’ needed mature supervision when she went away on business trips with Mr Zaoldeyck. Kurapika was of the opinion that Gon did pretty well as Killua’s babysitter. Nevertheless, Aunt Kikyou did Kurapika a great favor by giving him a sideline job to earn money. College wasn’t easy on the pocket.
“Yes, mum,” his white-haired ward’s remark drifted through the wall to where Kurapika was. Unfortunately, Killua had forgotten that his cousin had an ear more sensitive than a dog’s when it came to picking up names that had anything to do with calling him feminine.
“Killua,” the blond barked as he marched over, “Bath. Now.”
“What?” was the replying squawk, and Killua spluttered about how Kurapika managed to hear something he had muttered over the rapid rat-tat-tat of the guns and the main heroine’s screaming in the television. Gon just giggled.
Kurapika gave them the Look. Killua sighed, gave up protesting, and dragged Gon upstairs.
As the blond turned the TV off, he mused how babysitting wasn’t as hard as most girls declared it was.
