[August 2] [Harry Potter] labyrinths
Title: labyrinths
Day/Theme: August 2nd, A School of Morality
Series: Harry Potter
Character/Pairing: Sirius Black, Remus Lupin
Rating: G
“So why didn’t you tell him?”
Remus gave him an inscrutable look over his shoulder, and continued to ladle soup into his bowl.
“Moony.”
The other man made a soft noise somewhere between a tsk and a sigh, turning and making his way through the cramped kitchen to the table. He sat down and pulled his chair closer, pausing to search for a napkin under a stack of books. Sirius watched him from the other chair, one foot pulled up under him and fingers of his left hand drumming on the tabletop.
Outside the small, cramped flat was a busy foreign street, full of strange colors and noises. The name of the country, of all the countries, had passed him by this summer.
There was a sharp click from Moony’s direction as he set his spoon down and their eyes met.
“Dumbledore…” Sirius began again, breaking off with a frown, rubbing his arm absently. “Dumbledore would not have expected you to.”
“Answering your own question?”
“Do you really think he didn’t know?”
Silence, and then Remus gave a small shrug and a smile, picking up his spoon again. “I would be very much surprised if he didn’t,” he answered quietly.
