[August 10] [Fullmetal Alchemist] Let it be just a Rumor

Title: Let it be just a Rumor
Day/Theme: Aug. 10, 2011 "I put my mouth on yours"
Series: Fullmetal Alchemist
Character/Pairing: Ed, Al, Paninya, Winry, Ling (Ed/Winry)
Rating: PG
Author's comment: I asked my mom who to write about and she suggested Winry. So.

"But there's no way we can ever let Brother hear about this," Al whispered to Paninya. His voice wavered with a bit of suppressed humor.

"Can't let Brother hear about what?!" Ed intruded with all the quiet and subtly of a hurricane.

"He's good," Paninya remarked. ...And, Al reflected, she was pretty good too, sidling out the backdoor of Garfiel's shop and into the street before Ed could fix the full intensity of his anger on her and force the story out of her.

"I guess I'm going to have to be the one to confess then," Al sighed.

"Looks like." Ed looked out the door after Paninya. The odds were good that Paninya was more deeply involved in this subterfuge than Al. Ed would've liked to have had a few choice words with her about that, but it wasn't as if his younger brother was the angel he managed to convince most people that he was. "What's this horrible, secret story you weren't planning on sharing then?"

"I didn't see it myself... But Paninya was there and she was just passing it on to me..."

"And..." Ed urged, all impatience over arriving at the point to this would-be secret anecdote.

"It was about kissing. And Winry," Al blurted out quickly.

"Kissing?!" Ed gritted his teeth as though that could keep the redness that had risen in his cheeks from spreading to his entire face, neck and ears (it didn't). "Winry was kissing some other guy?! N-not that I," he backtracked, "Would want her to kiss me or anything, geez!" He was sure that Al was sort of smiling, seeing right through his protests. "So, who was it? Because if he-"

"Ling," Al answered, in a very small, but not timid in the least, voice.

"LING?!"
