[June 15] [Original] Living Always With Restraint
Title: Living Always With Restraint
Day/Theme: June 15, 2011 "Teach us to sit still."
Series: Original
Character/Pairing: Baruch ha-Gabban and the Altamiran princes and princess
Rating: G
"Be patient, Prince; be patient, Princess." It seemed like Baruch was always saying this to the three Atlamiran heirs. They gathered in the sun room on his day off to dissect him in private.
"Don’t you think that Baruch was probably like us once? After all, he was young too and it’s not uncommon to be impatient,” the princess mused.
“I’ll ask him,” her half-brother declared his intent. “We will see if Baruch knows how hard it is to practice as he preaches.”
“Ha-Gabban, it’s hard to be as patient as you tell us to be. Certainly you were once young and perhaps impetuous yourself?” the elder prince smiled diplomatically.
The priest thought about this for a silent moment before delivering his response. “No. I was not. I have always been a calm and fairly caprice-less young man.”
“Perhaps the priest has never really lived,” the younger prince whispered to his cousin.
“Perhaps youths were more boring in the old days.”
