[June 3] [Puella Magi Madoka Magica] Ceasefire
Title: Ceasefire
Day/Theme: June 3, 2011 "I'm about to say go alone"
Series: Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Character/Pairing: Homura & Kyoko
Rating: G
Additionally: Episode 10 spoiler mentioned. There's really nothing to this...
"Don't," Homura said, cutting Kyoko off, "Don't suggest I go alone."
Kyoko stepped back and took a large bite out of the rolled pastry in her hand. The force of her bite squeezed a dollop of cream out of the end. Would the inexorable force of gravity cause the cream to slide down her hand or fall away to the ground or would Kyoko notice first? Homura imagined she would lick the sweet stuff away if she saw it in time. Warn her or not? The way Kyoko was all but rolling her eyes didn't encourage Homura to go out of her way to be helpful.
"I do enough alone as it is." Kyoko couldn't understand how deeply true that was, but Homura spoke the words for her own sake, not Kyoko's. No one else could understand how alone she was moving through time. "I don't want to go by myself."
There was a moment of heated silence. "I'm not asking you to come with me," Homura added, in case she was wrongly giving the impression that she was pressuring Kyoko to offer to come along to face this particular witch. The only witch she wouldn't mind having company against would be on Walpurgis Night.
"Oh." Apparently Kyoko had misunderstood her intentions. "Well, then if you wait a little, I think that Tomoe chick will turn up. And those other girls will probably still be with her. It's funny. I thought you were the type who liked to be alone."
"You should know as well as anybody that people are complicated. ...And you might want to get that," she pointed at the messy end of the roll cake.
Kyoko turned her whole hand around and noted the dripping filling in time. "Thanks."
