His arms were covered in hundreds of thin cuts, some bleeding sluggishly. He shook one sleeve back and examined himself dispassionately, although his knuckles were pale of the hilt of his sword.
She chuckled at his shoulder and reached around him to grab at the hilt; it rippled and she smiled, teeth perfect and white. She put the fingers of her other hands against his lips and her touch was drifting, fleeting and pink.
“Byakuya-sama.” Other fingers closed over his hand, the one that still gripped Sebonzakura. She pulled the sword from him and tucked it firmly under her arm.
