[April 15] [Final Fantasy VI] Drink from the Well of Rainbows
Title: Drink from the Well of Rainbows
Day/Theme: April 15, 2011 "pint of paint"
Series: Final Fantasy VI
Character/Pairing: Relm, Strago, etc.

Relm told everyone the same thing when they asked for what she wanted for her birthday. "Some more paint would be nice," she answered sweetly. "Just because my brush is magic doesn't mean I don't run out of paint like everyone else."
Her journey along with her grandfather to try and protect, and then to try and redeem, the world had left Relm with a good number of grown-up friends who were happy to donate a little of their time and funds to picking her out some new supplies. And so, a low-key, but rather well-populated birthday party, left Relm thoroughly restocked with what Strago considered to be an almost excessive amount of paint. From Sabin had come an earthy, homemade brown pigment he had researched on his own. From Edgar there were sumptuous golds, silvers, and purples, the kind of colors she could usually only afford in such quantities when she was being commissioned to create art for wealthy patrons in Jidoor. From Setzer she received subtle shades of gray. With all of her friends contributing according to their own particular abilities and tastes, Relm inherited a veritable rainbow in liquid form.
...And right from the beginning she knew exactly what she wanted to do with it. The next time her grandfather left on one of his various short journeys- to visit one of their friends or to hunt down some particular monster that tales of had caught his ear- Relm began work immediately, throwing old sheets down all over the floors and furniture. She would turn every inch of their plain and worn old walls into a multi-room, multi-floor mural.
Strago would love the surprise of it all when he returned home- assuming he didn't have a heart attack first.
