[April 12] [Original] Sharp Teeth Are Sharp Teeth After All
Title: Sharp Teeth Are Sharp Teeth After All
Day/Theme: April 12, 2011 "the middle lion"
Series: original
Character/Pairing: Jin Rembrandt & colleagues (as viewed by an outside observer)
Rating: PG
Maybe they weren't like wolves- they were lions instead. They weren't a pack, they were a pride. Because the head of their group didn't fight. He only sat back and watched, planned. The leader of the pride doesn't do much hunting, right? ...Of course, only one of the main Rembrandt henchmen was female...
Sorry, I don't know very much about lions. When I first learned about Jin Rembrandt I only knew about them from legends. At least now, I've seen drawings of them and information from foreign books, so my ignorance is somewhat lessened.
Well, anyway, even if I don't know as much as maybe I should about lions, Jin Rembrandt I do understand. He made himself out to be an ally of the Catalonian state, but I think he was stalking prey in the capital from the beginning. He let the queen wear herself out before sending his men to tear into her with their poison and their blades.
Jin Rembrandt and his followers (two from their meeting with him until death, others now and then as time went on) weren't content to do this just in Catalonia either- they moved on to the Western Mountain Coalition- you aren't surprised, are you, that it was no longer a coalition when they left? And after that Sukaki, where they crippled and brought down another government as well.
Some say that predators like these clear out the ill, old, and weak, helping the strong and deserving to survive. I don't see that as anything but an excuse for those who are too fearful to oppose these rabble-rousers. If a man like Jin Rembrandt can be a lion...if our king can be called a lion...why can't we, the law-abiding citizens of these nations, do just as much?
