I lost one sister and found another. And then I lost her too. Sometimes I thought that maybe I wasn't meant to have close friends like that. I was caught up in a lot of my own melodramatic ideas of what I wanted (and what I deserved) from the people around me and from life in general.
Finally, Senel's friends became my friends. Bit by bit, they came to like me not just through or because of him, but because of me. They mean so much to me. Especially Jay and Chloe.
My life is different now, although perhaps my goals are still pretty much the same. But when I think of friends, you were my beginning, and so I think of you still, Fenimore.
