[Aug. 28] [Original] Weak in the Knees
Title: Weak in the Knees
Day/Theme: Aug. 28, 2010 "wanderer broken down before the wind"
Series: original
Character/Pairing: Grey, Sakuya, Derringer
Rating: G
Grey strode down the gangplank like a lord and a hero (which was precisely what he believed himself to be, so this came as no surprise). He turned and offered Sakuya his hand as she approached nervously, concerned by the gentle swaying of the linked boards. "Nervous?" he laughed as she used his support to hop over the last section to the ground.
Derringer came last, his exaggerated swagger filling the billows of his cape-coat with air. Sakuya looked back at him as she smoothed her dress, thinking he looked rather like a pirate. Grey and Derringer- despite herself, she liked both of them. They were dashing gentlemen. This sat ill at odds with their reputations as killers. Initially it had made her think the charges against them were as trumped up as those that had been leveled against her (the evidence linking her to the crime, that is- a terrible crime certainly had occurred). However, neither man ever denied the things that were said about them. Grey had a few things to say about the reasons he was supposed to have committed those crimes, but both of them were as honest as could be expected about their pasts. It was not easy for Sakuya to know what to think in this situation.
Derringer stepped onto the solid earth. He promptly crumpled to the ground. "Ayye!" Sakuya gasped, rushing to his side. Grey appeared perturbed by this development, but he schooled his pace and approached slowly. "Ayye, are you hurt?"
"I- I'm okay. ...Really. Just... I just need to get my land-legs again." How embarrassing.
