"Where are we going next?" Romana asked, while the Doctor tinkered with the console.

"I have absolutely no idea!"

"Oh? Have you lost control of the TARDIS again?"

"Of course not." The Doctor scowled at her words, but his usual grin returned right away. "I'm improvising!"

She pondered this for a moment before replying.

"Within certain parameters, I assume?"

"Parameters?" he huffed. "Parameters, Romana? Then it wouldn't be improvising at all!"

"But then you are truly open to any possibility. We could end up in the middle of an ocean, or inside of a volcano, or--"

"Ever the optimist," the Doctor sighed, shaking his head. "And anyway, we've been through worse, haven't we?"

That much, Romana had to admit, was perfectly true.
