[Aug 18] [Harry Potter] Possibilities
Title: Possibilities
Day/Theme: August 18 - quarter moon better than none
Series: Harry Potter
Characters/Pairing: Luna and Rolf
Rating: G
Words: 199
"It's a bit dark, isn't it?" Rolf whispered. He immediately felt silly about it, because lowering his voice was pointless; they had casted Muffliato for a reason. But still, it added to the atmosphere, he thought. Two magizoologists crouching behind thick bushes, hiding from the creatures they hoped to observe. It felt as if whispering was the way to go, even if it wasn't needed or even practical.
"It's supposed to," said Luna. She spoke quietly, too, which made him feel a bit better. "On a night with more moonlight, the golden-beaked lizardbirds wouldn't come out."
"Um, Luna?" he said, his tone hesitant as he searched for the right words. "Are you seriously expecting to find golden-beaked lizardbirds?"
"Of course. Are you one of those people who think they don't exist?"
To her credit, she didn't seem upset at all. Rolf could only wish he was as calm as her.
"… er. Well. I. Um."
"Muggles don't think phoenixes or demiguises exist, either."
If there was a good counterargument to that, Rolf couldn't find it. So he just shrugged and turned his attention towards the clearing in front of them. There might be a few lizardbirds around. Who knew?
