We're going to be famous one day, he always said. Skyfire just laughed and shook his head at him, but that didn't change anything. He knew he was right. He could feel it.
Okay, so Sky didn't think of fame and glory. That didn't mean anything. He felt that way because doing what he liked made him happy enough, not because he believed they didn't have it in them. Besides, it was Starscream's job to be the ambitious one. It had always been. And he was going to make sure they got exactly what they deserved.
Of course, it didn't depend entirely on him. The joys of science, he supposed. Sometimes they returned to Cybertron with fascinating data and samples, with improved charts and news of potential energy sources. And others, well… others were nothing but an enormous waste of time, and they came home with nothing to show for it but Starscream's terrible mood.
But that wouldn't stop him. Nothing ever would. It was part of the job, wasn't it? You tried and tried and tried, and you would get it right, eventually. It was just a matter of finding the right angle. Starscream had a very clear goal in mind, and a pesky thing like luck wasn't going to get in his way to it.
Never let it be said that he'd given up.
