[Aug 12] [Doctor Who] Human Perspective

Title: Human Perspective
Day/Theme: August 12 - no yesterdays on the road
Series: Doctor Who
Characters/Pairing: Implied Ian/Barbara, mentions of the first Doctor and Susan
Rating: G
Words: 258

There was always something new, something to look forward to. Barbara wasn't sure if one could call it "living in the moment" when it involved time travelling, but it certainly felt that way. There was no looking back.

It sounded strange, coming from a history teacher. Still, ever since they had met the Doctor, the lines between past and present had become quite blurred. Even history was now, for them. Or something like that, in any case. It was difficult to put it into words - for humans, at least. The Doctor and Susan, on the other hand, never really tried. She figured that, from their point of view, there was nothing to comment on. This was how things had always been.

Ian understood, this she knew. He didn't talk much about it (neither of them did, really), but it showed. After all, he had what the Doctor liked to call "a human perspective", too. Sometimes they would look at each other and just know that they were equally confused.

(They spent a lot of time staring at each other, lately. Barbara tried not to think too much about it. Not quite yet.)

In any case, human perspective or not, they almost never thought about the past. Not about their latest adventure; certainly not about their old life back home. It seemed so far away, now. Barbara felt that dwelling on such thoughts was no use. Perhaps they would return, someday. Then she would think of what to do.

For now, she had the whole universe to see.
