[Aug 11] [Harry Potter] The Real World

Title: The Real World
Day/Theme: August 11 - all cities were the same
Series: Harry Potter
Characters: Luna, Rolf
Rating: G
Words: 211

It was funny, Luna thought. When people heard that she and Rolf travelled so much for work, they always asked about the cities they'd visited. It didn't make sense to her. Once you'd seen enough of them, all cities were more or less the same. Oh, they had their quirks, of course. History, monuments… She knew that she couldn't ignore all of that.

But it didn't change the fact that, in the end, they were all just cities. They were made by humans, and humans were a lot more similar to each other than they liked to think. Nature, on the other hand, had much more variety.

The days they spent in the so-called middle of nowhere were far more interesting. (She'd always thought that was a silly way to call places. Everywhere was somewhere.) She and Rolf loved to talk about those things - but people rarely asked, unless they were also in the magizoology field.

Ah, well. It was their loss, she supposed. They'd always have their beaches and their deserts and their jungles. That was the way to see the world: the real one, not the parts built by people.

Cities were useful for staying in between travels. But they were definitely not what they wanted to see.
