Urd found Keiichi crouching near an open doorway. "Whatcha got?" she asked.

"Ant," said Keiichi, pointing at the ground. "I found it in my room."

"And you carried it outside?" a touched Urd said. "You'd make a good goddess."

Keiichi blinked. "Pardon?"

"You are to a goddess as that ant is to you," Urd said. "Both of us must choose to protect the ant and feed it sugar... and not to crush it underfoot."

Keiichi gulped.

And then, Belldandy called out from the kitchen. "Keiichi?... Could you ride into town and buy some sugar—"

"YES!!" Keiichi shouted, far too eagerly.
