There’s a place on Allison’s bed that smells like Remy. Not just perfume, which she uses sparingly, but the whole complex scent of her – what Allison remembers from burying her face in Remy’s neck as they make love.
Their relationship is “complicated.” Remy isn’t always here, and doesn’t always tell Allison where she is. Allison herself isn’t so sure how close she wants to get. Still though, she believes in love, and deep inside knows she has it now.
And there’s still enough of Remy to leave this scent on her sheets. Allison curls up now and breathes it in.
