Tenma looked down at his gun, eying it's structure... it was moving... he looked at his wrist.
Yes, he was shaking.
He laid the gun down on the nightstand of his hotel room, running his hands through his hair. He could still feel his hands trembling. All this time, handling a gun... holding it in confidence when it counted... even now when he was alone, he couldn't help but shiver at holding an actual weapon. He, a doctor, holding a gun to people's heads... it was something he wasn't meant to do.
But he had to...
He had to correct his mistake.
The biggest mistake he had ever made.
Johan Liebert was a monster... a murderer, and he brought him back. But in times like these, when he was alone... he would try and think of Johan as he is now... the murderous young man with the angelic mask and perfect facade... but inside... his mind would conjure the image of a dying young boy, lying on the emergency room bed... ready to be worked on. He would see himself, slowly making the incision... and then saving the young boy's life.
The young Johan deserved to be saved... because all lives are equal... but what the young Johan became, or perhaps what he had always been... had made his work in vain. Saving the psychopath... it ruined not only him, but countless lives.
But no matter how hard he tried... he couldn't see Johan as strictly a monster. The young man would make him feel on edge and ready to pull the trigger, yes... but when he stared at him, he could see the little boy... the child still residing in Johan's heart... and it always made him pause.
Even though he knows he shouldn't pause, he couldn't pause... Johan needed to be taken down.
And he was the only one for the job.
He'd take down Johan, whether the young man was still a child at heart or not.
He had to... he couldn't allow anymore innocent people to die.
