He paints tear trails down her cheek because he thinks she looks more beautiful that way.

She goes to him for relief he can't give her, with a weight on her chest that he can't get rid of. He knows this and she knows this.

But still, Itachi delights in distracting her from her pain with a catharsis she never asks for. With sharp words, he gives Sakura bitter revelations she wishes she never knew. And somewhere, she liked it, maybe.

It's not the love she wants, neither does it present any form of comfort. He twists her arm metaphorically and literally just to induce some sort of reaction from her (a kunoichi he doesn't even understand the reason for having any interaction with).

When she leaves, she isn't so numb.

But she isn't happy, either.
