Day/Theme: Mar 7th / All we ever see of stars are their old photographs

Sunday, five years back, vacation.
Koyama lying on the beach, spread out and almost naked. The summer sun burning his golden skin, a shadow on his left thigh, probably birds flying above them. He's smiling into the camera, against the harsh brightness of the sun; smiling at the photographer because he's happy.
Wednesday, two years ago, backstage.
On his back again, his head lolling to the right, his cheek smudged against the worn fabric of the couch he's lying on. Not smiling, not crying, not doing anything, really. He's asleep, tired between concert runs, the crincles on his forehead softening in calm sleep. There's a small gap between the fabric of his shirt and his collarbones. His skin is less tanned, the fabric thick. Sometime in winter.
Monday, last year in New York.
Koyama silent and still against the traffic of a city that never sleeps. It's dark and the cars' lights blur into each other, leaving trails of brightness on the picture. He's wide awake and a casual smile plays around the corners of his mouth. His shirt is opened, the wife-beater underneath seems to have slipped up enough to show a flash of tight skin.
Friday, yesterday. Does it really matter?
The granite's deep black is a stark contrast to the golden letters that remind of the star that's burried under the wet soil underneath the gravestone. The flowers hang their heads under the cold rain, droplets pool all over the cemetery. Maybe he's smiling, maybe he's sleeping, maybe he's looking at the photographer like he's the most important thing in the whole world. The camera captures the unmoving stone, sure that it will look just the same in ten days and in ten years.
Change is documented in photographs spread all over Shige's room.
