[Feb 28] [JE: Intergroup] Grains of Sand
Title: Grains of sand
Day/Theme: Feb 28th / And quietly gets swallowed by a wave
Series: Kat-tun / NEWS (RPS)
Character/Pairing: Nishikido Ryo x Ueda Tatsuya

It's getting dark faster then they'd thought, but in the end they're still lying on the sand, staring at the horizon and watching the sun disappear into the waves.
Sea gulls have quieted, children have long since gone home and the only noise comes from the water gently sloshing over the sand, almost touching their bare feet. Ueda strains his ears, tries to listen for any kind of noise but there's only Ryo next to him, quietly breathing, sometimes shifting, but mostly simply lying on the beach with Ueda, enjoying the last of their stay in Okinawa.
It's a romantic situation and it's not very them but after these days on Okinawa where it's been just the two of them (at least as far as Ueda's concerned) they might just feel a little closer and watching the sunset fits in nicely, even though it's so cliched they would otherwise laugh.
Ryo turns his head to look at Ueda, smirks when their eyes meet. Ueda sees his dark eyes framed by darker lashes, the crincles around the edges and the laughter within. He thinks of going home to Tokyo and working on Kat-tun's new album. He thinks of writing lyrics about promising gazes and feeling warm sand under his back. He thinks about love in Okinawa and wonders if it would be a lie. He had fallen back home, after all.
Ueda leans up on his elbows, looks down into Ryo's face.
"What?", Ryo asks.
Ueda shakes his head. He shifts his weight, bends down until he feels Ryo's hot breath hitting his lips.
The sun admits defeat to the ocean and the small grains of sand grow cold. The promise leaves Ueda's lips and quietly gets swallowed by a wave.
