Her first Winsol season with her new family seemed so strange to her. Papa insisted on traditional festivities and the household obliged their master. She wore her widow's weeds at his request, and several of her birthright jewels.
It seemed strange to celebrate a holiday dedicated to what she was, as if she wasn't what she was, but simply human, like them.
No, not like them. She was more than Blood. And they knew it. Papa knew it. But still he danced to her glory. It was strange to her, to be seen as both Witch and Jaenelle so easily.
