Bloodstained hands

There is little Vayne would not do for his brother.
So you would dirty your hands, to keep his clean? His father asks a question already answered, he knows, he is his father. Nevertheless he expresses the nigh inexpressible: My hands are stained with blood. I see little reason to stay them now. He would not ask his father to do the task himself, though he would be willing. They are, after all, taught to put the needs of others before themselves. Instead he chooses the sword, stabs him with it, once. His father does not struggle but looks at his son, pity and shame masking his old features. This is the least he can do for another dead son. Vayne does not hesitate, calls the guards. There would have been other ways, had he not loved his brother so.

Gabranth does not believe his young master is Archadian.
He does not call you ardent, doesn’t scowl when he sees your face. Thus he must be a changeling of some sort, too bright and pure to be of this world. He is honored when the young lord is placed under his charge; he is devastated when Vayne releases him of it. ‘t is not that he doesn’t trust Zargabaath but Bergan is a fiend. As a last wish, Drace asks for a prayer. He prays for the young master also, she would not mind.
