Basil gets himself stoned and badly beaten, and even then, can't stop with the overthinking. Abaddon rides to thenot so reluctant rescue.

He would always bear the scar across his arm now, stitches ripped, the wound a mouth Abaddon had forever opened in Basil's skin. His feet did not touch the floor.
