[6 January] [Original] Reputation
Title: Reputation
Day/Theme: January 6- absolutely necessary to a gentleman
Series: Original
Character/Pairing: Dahy, Xephos
Rating: G
The trouble with fighting in this maze of a city, Xephos reflected bitterly as he ran towards the last place he remembered seeing Dahy, was that it was far too easy to lose track of where his companions were once they were just a little out of sight. If that had been the aim of their enemies, then that made locating the others of utmost importance.
He doubted that their opponents had considered his other attributes, though, and he’d known Dahy for long enough now that he could almost taste the other’s scent even with a less sensitive nose. Blood helped, too, and he switched back fast, almost falling to his feet as he reached Dahy. “Hey- hey, Dahy!” He snapped his fingers in front of Dahy’s face, and Dahy made a grab for them. “You all right?”
“Not quite, but I will be,” Dahy said, letting go and grimacing as he forced himself off. He glanced down, and his right hand twitched. “They took my blade. Bastards.”
“Maybe you should stay still while you get fixed up,” Xephos suggested, not entirely liking the look of this.
Dahy shook his head, pulling his gloves off and bandages out of a pocket. “And let this slide? No. A reputation isn’t the most important thing, but I’ll be damned if I’ll let them ruin mine.”
