[17 DEC] [SW: TFU] [SAVING GRACE]

Title: Saving Grace
Day/Theme: 17th December 2009; something pure and out of my hands
Series: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Character(s)/Pairing(s): Galen; Galen/Juno
Rating: G
Notes: Set slightly before the last stage, so massive spoilers.

Perhaps, Galen thinks as he falls from the Rogue Shadow, he was never meant to be happy.

His parents are gone, his father murdered by the man who'd proceeded to make his life a twisted, cruel lie in order to fulfill his master's selfish desires. PROXY, his one friend during those dark times, was dead, having given his life to save him from that very monster.

And then there was Juno.

(He momentarily considers the fact that had he not become Vader's apprentice, he might never have met her, and he wonders what to make of the thought.)

There had been one fleeting moment back on the ship when he'd contemplated running away from the whole debacle. After all, she had officially "died" on the Empirical, and there was a chance Vader had presumed he'd died on Corellia. But Galen had banished the thought as soon as it had manifested. He would never have been able to live with himself, and he was sure she would not have let him either.

"Do not be fooled that you walk on anything other than your own two feet," Shaak Ti had told him. How right she had been. And so he'd made his choice.

To keep her, he must risk losing her.

The irony is not lost on him.
