[Nov 7] [Watership Down] Follow My Voice
Title: Follow My Voice
Day/Theme: seven. your foolishness is a beautiful curve in this crazy game
Series: Watership Down
Character/Pairing: Bluebell, Captain Holly
Rating: G
Bluebell was making enough noise to bring down all of sharp-toothed nature on them, but Holly couldn’t even be worried. He had pushed past fear and exhaustion and pain and found himself in an unsteady, gasping place. He kept going because he had to, and all around him, like an excited kit, scampered Bluebell.
Where had the silly fool found this energy? Holly could barely breathe, much less talk, much less again tell jokes and stories. But he was grateful. When he faltered to a stop, Bluebell was beside him, letting him lean on the curve of his back and moving on slowly so he could keep up.
If their paced slowed, though, the chatter did not. Through the have of horror and determination, Bluebell rambled on, more like a blue jay than his namesake. All was madness and nothing made sense except the need to find the others and silliness spouted by his cheerful second.
