[October 17] [Original] Out Waiting
Title: Out Waiting
Day/Theme: October 17- Solemn talk of distant rain
Series: Original (Strange and Awkward)
Character/Pairing: Dahy, Xephos
Rating: PG
Xephos snarled something incomprehensible, and stalked across the veranda to fling himself into a chair. This involved rather more jumping than usual, and a larger huff.
Dahy watched him with some bemusement, only a small part of which actually showed. “Size adjustment not working out as well as you’d hoped?”
Xephos shook his head, and glared at the opposite side of the veranda, arms crossed, but not too hard. He didn’t want to actually set it on fire, after all. “I cannot wait for the rain to break. …and that's something I hadn't expected I’d say. This is ridiculous.”
“It should break soon,” Dahy said, and there was something in his voice that made Xephos look over at him.
“Are you laughing?” he asked.
Dahy gave him a look which didn’t fool Xephos a bit, and he got off the chair.
“Xephos, it’s too hot-” Dahy began, eyeing him with some dismay now.
“Exactly the right conditions, then!” Xephos said, and hit him. Dahy went cross-eyed for a moment, and then, slowly, a smile of sorts spread across his face.
Xephos grinned.
