What is that you say? A little closer, please… my ears are not what they used to be.
A whisper of wings on the breeze, you say? Ah, then- but not so loudly!
If you wish to see them, you must be quiet.
Softly- softly- can you ease the window up without too much sound? …do not worry if you cannot. It may even be best left shut- I do not know how sensitive these birds are, but word has it that they may flee at the faintest tremor.
They are not frequent visitors, I am told, and hardly anyone has seen one from close up. It is the deepest desire of many, and yet…
So far there is only a feather. But… perhaps someday.
