Long Feng remembers the days before the Siege of Ba Sing Se, before the current ineffective Earth King.
He remembers his mother taking him to see the soldiers and Earthbenders march in a parade. Long Feng was so young she had to hold him up so that he could see. The green uniforms went by in a long column, with the anthem playing for their march.
"Always remember to be loyal to your people, and to protect your city," his mother had told him.
And to this day he will tell you that that is exactly what he is doing.
