Slight spoiler warning for end of series
It was unbecoming of the World's Greatest Automail Mechanic, but Winry would always detour around the remains of the Elrics' house after dark and use the back door to her house. The night never scared her, but every time she passed the burned foundations, dark against the stars, she heard the shouts of children at play, and the calm voice of a mother in the wind. It was silly, but it still made her shiver.
It was only later, explaining to Al what had happened to his home, that she realized that it was memories, not ghosts, that she heard.
