[September 2] [Silent Hill] Light

Sometimes at night, after Lisa sings her to sleep, Alessa dreams of the sun. The sun doesn't shine often in Silent Hill, and never in this small dark basement room. But she can remember it, the light shining through stained glass windows and the warm feeling on her hands and face.
Like most children, sometimes she dreams she is flying. And in her dreams, Alessa can fly anywhere she desires, so she flies to the sun. Blinking against the light, she goes into the sun itself. There are bright white butterflies there, sipping from yellow flowers. Alessa sings to them, a warm song there in the light.
When she awakens Lisa is asleep, slumped in her chair, and they are both still in darkness. But Alessa smiles slightly, remembering her butterflies, and pretends it is the sun that has burned her as she falls asleep again.
