Title: Teaching by Force
Day/Theme: August 24- I'm almost drowning in her sea
Series: Original (Sisters and Dragon, AU- different sister)
Character/Pairing: Leas, middle sister- the ulavio
Rating: PG
Summary: She has little patience.
Notes: Written in first person with the intention of fitting in with the prompt. Not actually all that fond of first person, so it's a bit of a challenge.
I didn’t really learn to swim when I was younger. The waterways around my home were slow and reasonably safe, provided you stayed in the shallows and kept an eye out for anything that’d drag you out further. It helped to have someone along with you, who could help watch out, or to just have water fights with.
She wasn’t the kind of beast you would’ve wanted to have along with you, though. I’m still not entirely certain what her agenda was, but- if she’d thought that throwing me to something would’ve helped it along, she did it.
It’s a horrible thing, seeing the light of day right above you with the air you so desperately need right there, just out of reach. I sank, and I’m sure that it was something she did- water was her element, after all, and mine wasn’t.
I think she expected it to force the transformation out of me- to force me to learn. I can’t help but think that there must have been a better way.
