[23 August] [Bleach] hornet in a hive
Title: hornet in a hive
Day/Theme: 23 August; I belong in the service of the queen
Series: Bleach
Character: Soi Fon, Yoruichi
Rating: G
Soi Fon comes to swiftly, panic humming a low, frenzied drone through her heart and pain coursing through her wretched body.
“You shouldn’t have saved me, Yoruichi-sama,” she gasps. She should have been able to handle the pack of renegade shinigami marked for execution without her captain stepping in to help, but they are faster than expected and she is still very young. Her heart can still yield to a steel blade, and her hornet’s crest still falters and fades and fails her in the heat of battle.
“I would’ve died for you! It was my duty to protect you, but I was too slow, too weak, I deserved death for being derelict in my duty–”
Yoruichi flashes her incisors in a cat-like yawn which quickly becomes a cavalier grin of relief that her subordinate is alright. At the same time, she casually turns around such that her back faces Soi Fon, to better hide her own wound and worry.
“Aaaa,” Yoruichi drawls, cutting her off quickly. “You worry too much. Besides, I couldn’t very well leave you behind, could I?”
