[August 23] [Chrono Trigger] Prophecy
Title: Prophecy
Day/Theme: August 23- I belong in the service of the Queen
Series: Chrono Trigger
Character/Pairing: The Prophet, Queen Zeal
Rating: G
He has travelled well, so far. The Skyways have opened to him- he would have expected nothing less- and the people here- the ‘Enlightened’ Ones- have recognised him and accepted him as someone of great power. As well they should. He had not garnered a reputation as the ‘Demon Lord’ for nothing. There is but one matter remaining, and that he does not expect will pose any great threat to his aims. He may not have the true gift of foresight, but he knows Zeal and the lands below well enough to make it seem so for the time he needs. All he needs now is for the Queen to believe that he is what he says, and he does not doubt that she will. Doubt is the killer of many ambitions.
“All that you have told me so far is true,” she says at length, turning towards him. “What is there to say that you could not take such information to Zeal’s foes, were there to be any?”
He bows his head. “I could not conceive of such an action,” he tells her. “My only desire is to serve Zeal,” and it is not entirely a lie.
She nods, apparently satisfied with this answer. “Then tell me, Prophet,” she says. “How best can our country prosper?”
