Nel likes Itsygo. He saved her and he is cool and he isn't going to kill her like all the other shinigami would.
Nelliel likes Ichigo. He is brave and loyal. He saved her life. These are worthwhile things.
She goes along with him to show him the way because he is fun and neat and he saved her life.
She defends him because he is one of her people now, and she protects her own.
It's not as if she likes humans. She just likes Itsygo.
She's eaten souls with the best of them, and she'll do it again.
