"No," Toshimori said calmly.

"But why not?" Yoshimori demanded, before realizing that his previous question had actually answered itself. His shoulders slumped. "I guess a castle would only convince Tokine that I'm nothing but a cake freak."

Toshimori eyed the unopened packets of flour and sugar on the kitchen table, so pristine and full of promises. "She does like your cakes. You said so yourself."

"She used to. Now she's just bored. Maybe if I made two kinds instead of just one - ? Nah."

It was probably wrong to feel sympathy for his brother, who at the moment would benefit more from an all-conquering recipe. "Good luck," said Toshimori, adding, "Don't forget that, to us laymen, it's the taste that matters. Maybe you can start from that angle when you present her with the final result."
